- physical activity

Research shows that children who lack regular physical activity are at greater risk of obesity. Activity habits that are formed during early childhood increase the likelihood of being an active adult. Experts recommend children and adults get 60 minutes or more of moderate activity daily.

Support your family's efforts to be active every day. Make a goal to move more as a family. Create active time to spend with your child and remember to make fitness fun for everyone.

Keep a family activity log. Post it on the refrigerator and encourage everyone in the family to use it. Recognize the person who achieves their daily activity time.
