With its innovative programs, campaigns and events focused on the value of healthy eating and physical activity, Pennsylvania Advocates for Nutrition and Activity (PANA) has been rallying the support of schools, local parks and trails, and communities since 2003.
Thanks to the success of PANA’s efforts, the nrgBalance – make healthy easy national movement has been developed. nrgBalance makes it easier to create energy-balanced environments that encourage healthy eating and active lifestyles for everyone.

While plenty of attention has been given to individuals’ energy balance, the universal measure of healthy eating and active living, little focus has been placed on the environments in which people spend time – home, work, school and recreation. By working to change policies and practices to support healthier choices in these environments, PANA believes they can make a big difference.
